David A. Osborn

David Osborn has worked as the deer research coordinator at the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources since 1993.  Before then he served as a state wildlife biologist in Arkansas and Florida.  He earned degrees in wildlife science from Texas Tech University and Arkansas Tech University.

His primary responsibilities include oversight of all deer-related research as well as operation of the Whitehall Deer Research Facility, where we maintain a captive herd of deer.  He also works with Georgia landowners to survey their deer herds and to prescribe habitat and population management strategies.  His current interests include the use of tree orchards for the purpose of attracting and feeding deer on hunting lands.
